Les auteurs de mon enfance

Richard Scarry - Min Store Ordbog - Ed.1970
C'est un de mes tout premiers livres.
J'ai encore ce livre grâce à ma mère qui garde tout. J'ai tellement regardé ces les images de ce livre.
Le livre est en danois et en anglais.
It is one of my very first books.

I still have it thanks to my mother who keeps everything. I watched those drawings so much. Over and over again.The book is in Danish and English.

René Goscinny et Albert Uderzo - Astérix et Obélix 
À mes 7 et 8 ans, tous les week-ends quand ma mère et mon beau-père espagnol faisaient la grasse mat, je regardais les albums d'Astérix et Obélix pendant des heures, j'adorais chercher tous les gags.
Ce n'est qu'à 10 ans que j'ai commencé à vraiment lire le texte et découvrir le double sens des noms.

When I was 7 and 8 years old, every weekend, when my mum and my Spanish stepfather were sleeping late, I watched the Asterix and Obelix albums for hours. I loved looking for all the fun stuff. It was only when I turned 10 years old that I started reading the albums and realised there was a double meaning in the names and many more jokes.

Hergé - Les aventures de Tintin 
Mon beau père avait aussi des albums de Tintin et il y en avait un que j'aimais encore plus que les autres parce que c'était le plus délirant. Hergé m'a beaucoup inspiré avec son style de dessin ligne clair.
My stepfather had also some Tintin albums and this one I liked even more because I found it so delirious. Hergé inspired me a lot with his draving/graphic style called ligne claire.

Francisco Ibañez - Mortadelo y Filemon 
Dans le bureau de mon beau père j'ai aussi découvert des albums de Mortadelo et Filemon, qui étaient aussi bourrés de gags. 
Je me suis beaucoup inspirée de cette bd pour dessiner les scènes de ménages passionnées de mes parents pour transformer la peur en gag.
In my stepfather's office I also discovered "Mortadelo and Filemon" albums. They inspired me a lot when I drew my parents passionate fights to make it less scary.

Jean Roba - Boule et Bill

Des amis de mes parents m'invitaient à passer le week end chez eux à la campage à Ibiza. Chez Alain et Ulla, j'ai découvert Boule et Bill, j'adorais ces deux albums.
Some of my parents friend would invit me at they country house in Ibiza and that's where I discovered these albums. Just so fun. 

Quino -  auteur argentin de Mafalda

J'ai peu lu Mafalda en étant petite, je ne comprenais pas trop les chutes mais j'ai toujours aimé ce dessin là. 
As a kid, I didn't read much Mafalda because I didn't understand the jokes so much but I always liked and remembered that drawing :

N'est ce pas incroyable tout ce qu'il y a dans un crayon ?
Isn't it unbelievable how much there is in a pencil ?

Jim Davis -  Garfield

Vers 11 ans ma mère m'a offert quelques Garfield et j'ai commencé à recopier Garfield, j'ai appris à le dessiner en répétant et répétant le même personnage. Excellent exercice pour commencer à écrire des petites histoires. Apprendre en copiant.
By 11years old, my mum gave me some Garfield comics, no color yet at that time. I started copying the drawings. I learnt a lot by repeating the same character on and on. It's a great exercice to learn how to write shorts comic strips.

Les auteurs de mes 20 ans

Javier Mariscal - Artiste multidiciplinaire Catalan. Auteur du Cobi des J.O de Barcelone en 1992.
Je l'ai découvert lorsque j'étudiais le graphisme à l'École des Arts et Métiers Appliqués d'Olot en Catalogne. J'adore l'état d'esprit de Mariscal, la créativité, la joie, les couleurs. On se sent en bord de mer. J'adore ses dessins urbains de Barcelone.

I discovered him when I was studying graphic desing in a School of Arts and Craft in Olot, Catalonia. I love Mariscal spirit, his amazing creativity, the joy, the colors. I also love his urban drawings of Barcelona.

Bill Waterson - Calvin & Hobbes
J'adore le style des dessins, l'espièglerie, la poésie et la rêverie de cette bd. Même les petites touches d'aquarelle sur certaines couvertures, j'adore.
I love Bill waterson's drawings,the playfulness, the poetry and the reverie of this comic. Even the little touches of watercolor on some covers, I love it. 

Les auteurs de mes 30 ans

Lewis Trondheim - Les petits riens.
Beaucoup d'auteurs de la maison d'édition L'Association m'ont inspiré comme Marjane Satrapi, David B, Joan Sfar, Julie Doucet, Dupuy et Berbérian pour leurs oeuvres autobiographiques mais les Petits riens de Trondheim me faisaient tellement rire avec ses angoisses et ses moments d'inquiétude. 
Many authors from the publishing house L'Association have inspired me like Marjane Satrapi, David B, Joan Sfar, Julie Doucet, Dupuy et Berbérian for they autobiographical works but "Les Petits Riens" (The little nothings) of Trondheim made me laugh so much with his anxieties and his moments of concern.

À 32 ans j'ai découvert que j'avais une hépatite C, elle était très active. J'ai du faire un traitement médical assez lourd pendant une année entière. J'ai vite guéri mais il fallait aller jusqu'au bout du traitement. Au début j'ai travaillé en mi temps thérapeutique mais très rapidement j'ai du arrêter à cause des effets secondaires du traitement. J'étais très affaiblie et très fatiguée, j'ai passé beaucoup d'heures sur mon canapé à lire des bds et à dessiner.
J'ai dessiné beaucoup de planches autobiographiques qui me faisaient du bien, c'était exutoire, un peu comme de l'art-thérapie.

At 32 I discovered that I had hepatitis C, it was very active. I had to take a heavy medical treatment for an entire year. I healed quickly but I had to go through with the treatment. At the beginning I worked part-time in therapy but very quickly I had to stop because of the side effects of the treatment. I was very weak and very tired, I spent a lot of hours on my sofa reading comics and drawing. I drew a lot of autobiographical plates that made me feel good, it was an outlet, a bit like art therapy.
